Women's Size Guide

Size Guide Women’s Tights

Women come in all shapes and sizes. That’s why our tights vary from XS to 4XL. But finding the right size in tights can be confusing. We know that European sizes can vary from US, CA and UK sizing. That’s why we’ve made a women’s size guide for our tights.

Please be aware that if you are in-between two sizes, we recommend choosing the biggest one. This applies to all products.

How do I know my size in women’s tights?

Unfortunately, no size fits all when it comes to tights. To make sure you find the size that fits you the best; use a tape measure and measure as described (see picture).

Keep in mind that this size guide will provide a reasonable indication of fit, but your personal preferences should be considered when selecting a size. Do you like your tights to be loose or a tight fit?

What about tights with compression?

All of BARA Sportswear’s leggings and tights are compressive. This means that they should feel tight when dressing. Compression tights are supposed to feel tight the first 2–4 times you wear them, but they should not cause any pain or feel uncomfortable. After you have used them for a few times they will shape after your body and stay in this shape. This way you can ensure that the leggings always stay in place during your active life.

How to tape measure to get the perfect fit for a tights?

Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of the waist. This is normally right above your belly button. We recommend that you use the waist measurement as the most important measurement when choosing your size.

Seat: Stand upright with your feet together and measure around the widest part of your seat.

Inseam: Measure from the floor alongside the toe to your crotch.

What’s the difference between European size, US, CA & UK size?

Size conversion isn't an exact science as everyone has a different body shape, size, and type. But if you have a rough idea of the differences in American, Canadian, British and European sizes, you'll at least know where to start.

At BARA Sportswear, our sizes are closest to European sizing. See the table under for conversion.

What’s a compression tights?

Compression tights are designed to be form-fitting. All of our leggings and tights have compression qualities of different strengths. Some more than others and vice versa.

Unlike traditional tights, tights with compression are used for specific athletic or medical reasons. In a medical context, compression garments, such as tights, provide support for people who have to stand for long periods or have poor circulation. Today compression tights are usually worn by athletes who wish to enhance performance or recovery speed.

Are BARA’s tights with compression?

All of our leggings and tights are compressive. This means that they should feel tight when dressing. We recommend putting them on the same way as you would with a pantyhose and don't be afraid to pull them hard over your hips! Please remember that if your seams break at any point, contact us and we will send you a new pair.
